    About American-Guided

    Built From Experience.
    Created for Confidence.

American-Guided began with a simple realization: receiving care abroad can make sense — and still feel intimidating.

Matt and Jess are Americans who spend significant time living in Albania. After their own family experienced extensive dental care here, they saw both the opportunity and the uncertainty firsthand. They created American-Guided to help other Americans explore care in Albania with more clarity, better questions, and local support.

We are not here to practice medicine. We are here to help you navigate the process.

    How This Started

    First, We Were the Patients.

Before American-Guided was a business idea, Albania was personal. Matt and Jess and their family experienced extensive dental care in Albania themselves.

That meant asking the same questions many Americans ask: Can I trust the provider? How do I know what I'm agreeing to? Why is the price so different? What happens if the treatment plan changes? How does follow-up work? What should I expect once I arrive? How do I navigate a country I don't fully understand?

The experience taught them something important: lower cost alone is not enough. Confidence comes from understanding the process, knowing what questions to ask, and having someone local who understands where you are coming from.

We didn't create American-Guided because care abroad is simple. We created it because it doesn't have to feel confusing.

    More Than a Destination

Albania Became Part of Our Life.

The more time Matt and Jess spent in Albania, the more the country stopped feeling like somewhere they were visiting. It became familiar. They learned the cities. The rhythms. The restaurants. The practical realities. The differences between what Americans expect and how things may work locally.

They saw a country changing quickly — one that many Americans still knew very little about. That local familiarity became part of the American-Guided idea.

    The People

Understanding how local communication and relationships work can make an unfamiliar experience feel less intimidating.

    The Place

Knowing Albania beyond the airport changes how practical questions are handled.

    The Differences

American expectations and Albanian norms do not always line up perfectly. Understanding both sides helps.

    The Opportunity

Albania offers an unusual combination of improving infrastructure, Mediterranean lifestyle, lower local costs, and increasing international awareness.

You don't need someone who just knows healthcare. You need someone who understands the place around it.

The Experience Changed the Business Idea

The Questions Matter More Than the Sales Pitch.

Experiencing care personally made one thing clear: patients do not need more marketing. They need better questions.

    01

    Understand the Proposal

Know what is being suggested and what is not included.

    02

    Understand Who Is Treating You

The clinic name matters less than the qualifications and experience of the professional responsible for your care.

    03

    Expect Questions to Continue

A preliminary plan may change after an in-person examination.

    04

    Price Needs Context

The cheapest option is not automatically the best option.

    05

    Communication Matters

A patient should be able to ask questions without feeling rushed or embarrassed.

    06

    The Local Experience Matters Too

Transportation, accommodations, language, timing, and practical support all affect how the trip feels.

Those lessons became the foundation of American-Guided.

    Our Role

American-Guided exists to help Americans understand and navigate the practical side of exploring care in Albania.

    The Name Is the Idea

    American Understanding. Albanian Familiarity.

The "American-Guided" idea is deliberately simple. We understand what many Americans expect: clear communication, transparent pricing, questions answered directly, predictable logistics, and enough information to make an informed decision.

We also understand that Albania operates within a different culture, economic environment, and healthcare system. American-Guided exists in the middle. Not as the doctor. Not as the clinic. Not as a directory. As the bridge.

    American understanding on one side.

    Albania experience on the other.

    American-Guided in the middle.

Clinical care environment in Albania — part of the family experience that shaped American-Guided

    Personal Before Professional

This Was Never Just a Business Idea.

Our family's own experience with care in Albania shaped how we think about the decisions other families may face. When you are considering significant dental, cosmetic, surgical, or restorative care, the questions are not abstract.

You are thinking about your health. Your money. Your time. Your travel. Your family. Your confidence in the people involved. That is why American-Guided is intentionally built around education and guidance rather than pressure.

If we wouldn't want our own family rushed into a decision, we don't want you rushed either.

    We Don't Want Every Clinic

A Bigger Directory Was Never the Goal.

American-Guided is not designed to become an endless marketplace of clinics. We believe that selectivity matters. Provider relationships should be built because the provider gives us enough reason to consider them seriously — not simply because they want another listing.

    Carefully Evaluated

We look at the broader picture, including credentials, reputation, communication, facilities, transparency, and patient experience.

    Limited

We do not intend to feature every clinic in every city.

    Ongoing

Standards should continue to matter after a relationship begins.

    Albania Is Changing

We Believe the Timing Is Unusually Interesting.

Albania is experiencing increasing international attention. Tourism is growing. Air connectivity is expanding. Foreign residents are discovering the country. Cities are developing. The Riviera is becoming less hidden.

At the same time, Albania still operates within a very different economic environment from the United States. That combination is part of what makes this moment so interesting.

What Good Guidance Should Feel Like

    Less Guessing. More Understanding.

    Before the Trip

You understand what you are considering and the questions still worth asking.

    Before You Commit

You understand the proposal well enough to make your own informed decision.

    While You Are in Albania

You have a familiar American point of contact who understands the local environment.

    Afterward

You understand what follow-up expectations were discussed and what practical next steps may exist.

The goal is not to make the decision for you. The goal is to make the decision less confusing.

    Your American Guides in Albania

    Matt + Jess

Albanian clinical environment — part of the American-Guided story

    Matt

    American Co-Founder

Matt focuses on the patient experience — the practical problem-solving, the provider evaluation mindset, and the communication that helps American clients feel understood. His familiarity with Albania comes from spending significant time on the ground, not from a distance.

His role is guiding the process: helping clients understand what to ask, what to expect, and how to think about the decisions in front of them.

Care environment in Albania — part of Jess's firsthand patient experience

    Jess

    American Co-Founder

Jess brings the family perspective and firsthand patient experience. She understands the emotional side of considering treatment abroad — the worry, the questions, and the desire to feel confident before committing.

Her role is helping make the process feel human and understandable, drawing on lived experience with care in Albania and a genuine understanding of what American families need to feel reassured.

Neither Matt nor Jess provides medical or dental advice. Their role is patient guidance, care navigation, local familiarity, communication support, and helping clients understand the process.

    A Big Decision Deserves Time

Trust Is Built Before the Plane Ticket.

Considering healthcare abroad requires trust at several levels. Trust in the provider. Trust in the information. Trust in the treatment proposal. Trust in the logistics. And trust that someone will answer the questions that inevitably come up.

American-Guided cannot eliminate every uncertainty from healthcare. But we can help make sure fewer questions go unasked.

    Confidence before commitment. Always.

    Start Where We Started

    Begin With Questions.

You do not need to know which provider you want. You do not need a final treatment plan. You do not need every record organized.

Tell us what you are considering and what you already know. We can help you understand what the appropriate next step may be.

    Confidence Before Commitment

You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone.

American-Guided exists because we know what it feels like to consider care in another country and wish someone could help make the process easier to understand.

No pressure. No clinic commitment. Confidence before commitment.
